Amadou Onana has responded on Instagram to the news of Lewis Dobbin’s departure from Everton to Aston Villa.

The young academy product Dobbin has officially left Goodison Park, with Tim Iroegbunam moving in the opposite direction from Villa this summer.

Confirming the move on June 23rd, Dobbin posted an image of himself signing his new contract alongside Villa’s director of football operations, Monchi.

In his reaction, Everton’s Onana replied succinctly with the word “Scary,” followed by a love heart eye emoji, an unusual addition considering the context of a player leaving his club.

Villa and Everton have collaborated to address issues pertaining to the Premier League and Player Registration (PSR) ahead of the June 30th deadline.

While not a traditional swap deal, both clubs stand to benefit financially from the transaction.
