Ian Wright has revealed that he has reached out to Alexandre Lacazette to explain why he made fun of his yelling at Burnley on Match of the Day.

Along with presenter Gary Lineker and fellow pundit Dion Dublin, Wright poked fun at the Arsenal forward by screaming and holding his legs hours after Lacazette was heard screaming loudly after a challenge on Turf Moor.

But despite no one’s yelling “ is necessary, ” Wright says he felt the need to reach out to the French because of their relationship and his close ties to the Gunners.

“The main thing here is that I did that wrong,” said the former England striker in turn Wrighty’s House Podcast

It’s just the screams at the end. The fact is that yelling in the boys has always been a problem for me.

Now we can hear it and we’re talking about huge screams to the point where you think, “Oh my God, something’s wrong with this player!”

‘This week it happened to be Lacazette and like I said I was wrong but what I did when you see all the s *** coming back … and in hindsight the s *** of course goes to especially with the fact that it was an Arsenal player and it is me.

“And me and Laca are going back and we have correspondence.”

Lacazette could be heard screaming on BT Sport’s live coverage after a challenge from Erik Pieters dropped him in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Burnley.

The 29-year-old’s screams could be heard even by those watching TV at home

But despite Lacazette clearly exaggerating the pain and moving on quickly for the remainder of the second half, Wright quickly cleared the air with the Gunners star.

“I got in touch with him on Sunday morning so we could sort it out,” Wright added.

The way it was portrayed on social media, the way it was and it was Laca at that particular incident, it looked like it was digging out Laca. But we were digging out the screams.

‘My biggest mistake was the screaming at the end. F ****** stupid and at the end of the day it’s no problem for Gary Lineker or Dion Dublin.

But at the same time, I have to accept and realize what that means for the Arsenal fan base and what that means for me to feel like they are one of them is supposedly to dig them out.

‘All I can say was that I was digging out the screams. We’re talking about people yelling, they get up and then play on.

If he stayed down or if a player stays down, let’s talk about Raul Jimenez. As we speak, we don’t even know if he’s going to play again, so I don’t want to make it too big of a deal, but the screaming, to me, from someone isn’t necessary.
