Newcastle United could take the lead in January to sign Chelsea striker Timo Werner.
According to BILD, the crows are interested in Werner’s services and want to sign him in January. Werner has had a mixed time at Chelsea following his move in the summer of 2020. The 25-year-old has helped the Blues 13 times in 41 Premier League games.
But what is most questionable is its purpose. This achievement has only been achieved seven times, despite collecting an xG score of 14.1.
Expected goals, also known as xG, measures the likelihood a player will score based on the quality of their chances. That means a chance of Werner’s quality should be enough to double his Premier League career goals.
Even so, Werner remains an important asset to Chelsea and its construction. As for the moves in the channel, they aren’t much more talented than the German, which is why he’s been able to get so many assists.
