Garth Crooks praised Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah after listing him on latest team of the week in the Premier League.
The Blues have had great success getting players out of their academy of late, with Chalobah looking like the latest success story having given him plenty of chances from Thomas Tuchel this season.
Apart from being a fine young defender, Chalobah has shown some goalscoring ability as he has now scored twice in the Premier League. “I’ve always been fascinated by defenders who have a real torgier.”
Trevoh Chalobah scored a blast against Crystal Palace earlier this season but his goal against Southampton was very interesting,” Crooks wrote in his column for BBC Sport.
“It was instinctive to keep him off the ball in that section. He knows exactly where the ball is going to fall. Most defenders know how to attack the ball, especially in the air, but few know where it’s likely to fall, to get a timely finish. Chalobah did it.
The 22-year-old used to have to settle for a lease but is now firmly established at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea fans would love to receive plaudits from experts like Crooks. CFC-Ass Cesar Azpilicueta is another member of the Tuchel team who was named Team of the Week this week .
