“Yes, everything is possible!” – N’Golo Kante feels a repeat of 2012 coming on

Chelsea brushed aside a good Atletico Madrid team in the Champions League last 16 this week to march into the quarter finals in style and with confidence.

N’Golo Kante was deservedly awarded man of the match for his heroic performance in the centre of the park, bossing the game.

His injury time sprint from our 18 yard box to their goal to create a diverted run for Emerson to score Chelsea’s second goal, just about sums up his quality performance on the whole.

Chelsea all over the pitch were absolutely superb and it left them and their fans feeling confident about the rest of the season and the rest of the Champions League competition.

Can they go all they way? Can they recreate the 2012 triumph?

Well, Kante feels that they have every chance of doing so, and why not?

The world class French international was speaking via the Chelsea website.

He said:

“First I am happy we qualified for the quarter-final. To get this award [man of the match] is a plus, but the principal was to qualify and we played a very good match.

“Atletico are a good team, well organised. It was about keeping possession and stopping any rapid attacks. We didn’t let them have any counter-attacks. Our success in the first leg made us think about the good situations and meant we were confident in our approach to this match.

“We played two good matches and we deserved qualification.”

And on whether Chelsea can repeat the Champions League win of 2012?

“Yes, everything is possible! We know what we need, and if it works out just fine then that would be very, very good!

“But we have to take match after match, and I hope we can stay in the competition as long as possible.”
